Rosalinda contracted polio in 1958 aged 6yrs. Today she is a Museum’s Collections Manager.  Rosalinda swam the English Channel in September 2009. She also represented Britain at the Paralympics in Beijing 37:43

Irene contracted polio in 1937 aged 7yrs. She was treated by Australian pioneer Sister Kenny who had more radical methods of treating polio than the establishment. However when Kenny left, all those that were treated by her were measured up for calipers the next day. 18:10

Ann contracted polio in 1939 aged 3yrs. She attended Chailey Heritage school in Sussex where, she says, they gave her love of Theatre and writing poetry. It gave her so many opportunities she would not have had otherwise. 21:44

Bryan contracted polio in 1945 aged 15 months. His father sold his business and moved across the country to source the best treatment which had to be paid for as it was pre HNS. He later wrote an account of his childhood memories in hospital called Nightmare 37:25

Rossana contracted polio in 1957 aged 20yrs. She was a live in Nanny to a family in Portugal at that time.
